Full-service packing across the CSRA

Packing is a common ask here — roughly a third of my customers want it. A Fort Eisenhower family on a tight PCS window can’t box a kitchen. An Evans household with a china cabinet won’t gamble on the glassware. A retiree out in the county with decades of workshop gear simply doesn’t want the job.

Every bit of the packing kit comes with us — tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, wardrobe boxes, and the double-wall dish-pack cartons with their stemware dividers. A day out, Della or your crew chief does a walk-through of the house, flagging which rooms we’ll pack and which things you’d rather set aside yourself. Come morning, packers arrive with the movers right behind.

Packing flat-rate examples

Pack scope Crew Typical flat rate
Kitchen and bathrooms only 2 packers $450 – $690
Whole 1-bed apartment 2 packers $690 – $990
Whole 2–3 bed home 2–3 packers $1,200 – $1,800
Whole 4-bed home 3 packers $1,950 – $2,800
Art, glass and specialty crating add-on 3 packers $2,250 – $3,200

Prefer hourly? Two packers run $150/hr, three run $200/hr — but most people sign the flat number. Under our Georgia authority, loads carry the free 60-cents-per-pound released-value floor, a full-value option reaching $1,000,000, and a nine-month window to file.

How we label and crate it

Every carton is marked by room and contents — kitchen-A, primary-closet, garage-tools. Framed art, mirrors, china and heirloom glass get individually wrapped and crated. Pianos and safes go on a separate specialty line. Whole-house packing pairs best with a long-distance move.

What your Appling, GA flat rate already covers

  • We show up with the dish-pack cartons, wardrobe boxes and stemware dividers — no supply run left to you
  • Fragiles, framed prints and heirlooms wrapped in acid-free paper and bubble
  • Cartons tagged by room, with an inventory sheet that stays in your hands
  • Made-to-fit crates for mirrors, china, glass tabletops and original artwork
  • Pack the whole house or just part of it, the day before or the morning of
  • Add an unpack at the far end, billed on the very same flat rate

So what does it come to?

Two uniformed movers with the truck go for $150/hr on the clock, or seal the meter with a signed CSRA flat figure that lays the whole move out on one page

Blankets, dollies, shrink-wrap and the careful hand-carries a Grovetown ranch or a Summerville hillside staircase calls for are already baked into the rate, and so is any Certificate of Insurance a downtown Augusta high-rise or an Evans HOA wants on file. Want a third mover on the crew? That takes the hourly to $200/hr.

The questions we hear most on this service

When do you actually do the boxing — the day before or move morning?
Whole-house packs are usually the day before; partials the morning of. On a three-bed, clearing closets and the kitchen a day ahead works best.
Can I pack the easy rooms myself and leave you the kitchen?
Often. Partial packs get their own flat rate — a kitchen-only job on a three-bed usually runs $450 to $690.
Will you pack a china cabinet or a set of framed art?
Gladly — the made-to-fit crates, acid-free wrapping, and stemware dividers were built for precisely this kind of piece. Fragile collections are everyday work for us.
Once we've unpacked, do you clear out the empty cartons?
Booked the unpack add-on? Then the empties are ours to break down and cart away. Skip it and the flattened boxes stay for you.

A note from Wyatt

When I put my name on Appaloosa Moving and Storage in 2015, I made myself one promise and have kept it on every job since: what we write down is what you pay at the curb — no surprise line items once the truck is loaded. The trucks are ours, and every mover riding them came up through training I run in person.

A one-bedroom off Washington Road and a five-bedroom out toward Clarks Hill Lake get handled exactly the same way — one vetted Appling-area crew and one written flat rate, from the first carton to the last. That steadiness is what keeps our name moving between neighbors all over Columbia and Richmond counties.
